The Wisconsin Lions Camp
The Wisconsin Lions Camp is a non-profit, American camp Association accredited camp dedicated to providing quality camping experiences for youth and adults. The program focuses on developing a positive self-concept, social interaction and experience in outdoor recreational activities and is geared to the specific needs and interests of each camper. The Wisconsin Lions Camp provides their summer camp program at no cost to participants or their families.
There are youth with diabetes sessions that are provided in partnership with the American Diabetes Association which is made possible through statewide support from Lions, Lioness, Leo Clubs, and other public and private donors.
In order for the Lions to run their camps they need summer staff for counseling, program specialists (swimming, boating, challenge courses, etc.) health care staff, and other support staff. Anyone who is 18 and older and interested in a summer experience can apply. There are also opportunities for youth who are 16 and 17 years old and interested in working with special needs youth to work as counselors-in-training.
